About Saber Training Courses
The Saber Difference
There are many companies that provide electrical safety and technical training, but only one clear choice: Saber Power Services.
Our courses are developed based on what our customers have told us they want: Quality training on the stuff they actually use.
Our training can be delivered in our training facility, or at your site on the equipment your people work with every day. Don’t see it in our catalog? Don’t worry; just ask one of our sales executives or training professionals about customized training.
Our staff will give you the training you need based on their years of experience in the design, construction, start-up, commissioning, testing, maintenance and repair of all types of large commercial, heavy industrial and utility electric power systems and equipment.
Saber is an independent testing company, not affiliated with any equipment manufacturers or suppliers. Our training is based on timeless principles of quality and value engineering. Being a NETA company means that we use widely accepted industry standards for electrical power system maintenance and acceptance testing. We’ll train you the same way.
That’s the Saber Difference.
Why Do You Need Training?
Because it's required? Of Course, but here is some food for thought. U.S. Businesses spend over $125 billion annually on employee training, and the need for training is only increasing.
What is the driving factor behind the increase? Complexity. The plants and systems we operate continue to become more sophisticated and higher skill levels are needed to maintain them. Companies are constantly trying to keep up with these requirements and to hire enough skilled people. The number of schools available to teach these skills is not enough to satisfy the growing demand.
One trade that has felt this impact is the electrical business. The fad is we not only lack trained people; we lack people available to be trained. Currently there is approximately one worker available to replace every two about to retire. Every skilled hand is valuable. Skilled craft training is the only way to get ahead of the shortage and it requires collaborative effort. Saber Power cares and wants to do our part to contribute.
How does training affect recruitment and retention? Employees in the current workforce place more and more emphasis on the training their company can provide them. People want to know that their employer is willing to invest in their future. Companies who do not send their employ-ees to skilled training often have higher turnover rates. Also, most are required to regularly train their employees by various governing bodies.
Training produces educated workers which improves safety, productivity, quality, and efficiency and it can reduce operational and maintenance costs. At the end of the day, training an employee is an investment which produces a very high return.
